Tamil Nadu Industrial Guidance & Export Promotion Bureau (Guidance Bureau) is the Nodal agency for investment promotion and single window facilitation. It serves as the single point of contact for investor information, signing of MoUs, incentives, facilitation of land allotment at SIPCOT industrial parks, clearances through Single Window portal, etc.,

Guidance Bureau provides you all the necessary information like industrial environment, land availability, approvals and procedures, etc. Guidance Bureau will also facilitate the necessary clearances through the single window portal in a transparent, time-bound manner. The ‘Investment Facilitator’ assigned to every project will be doing the necessary coordination and support for the smooth implementation of the project.

As per Tamil Nadu Industrial Policy 2014, incentives are provide for setting up of / expansion of new industries. The details are as follows:

Structured Package:

Structured Package

  • SGST based subsidy / Special Capital Subsidy will be provided on a case to case basis for projects with investments & employments as above after examining the investment proposal.
  • Capital Subsidy:
    • For those projects not availing ‘Special Capital Subsidy’, a subsidy ranging from INR 30 Lakhs to INR 2.25 crores is provided as a standard Capital Subsidy.
    • 50% additional subsidy for industries set up in SIPCOT Industrial Parks (other than Southern districts)
    • For investments made in B & C category districts, an additional 10% & 25% subsidy for industries located outside the SIPCOT Industrial Parks

  • Stamp duty concession
    • 50% to industries located in SIPCOT parks in A & B districts and 100% in the case of Southern Districts
  • Environmental Promotion Infrastructure Subsidy
    • Subsidy of INR 30 lakhs or 25% of Capital cost whichever is less
    • Apart from the above, Industries adopting Zero Effluent or Waste Water Discharge, Clean Development Mechanism and Emissions Trading Mechanism will be given a higher amount of subsidy
  • Electricity tax exemption

It is applicable for a period 5 years depending on the quantum of investment and the employment criteria. The exemption starts from the date of commercial production.

The nodal agency for disbursal of incentives for all investments upto Rs. 300 crores is www.tiic.org and for others it is www.sipcot.com. Online application may be made for availing the incentives from the agencies concerned after achieving the investment and employment commitment.

For all projects eligible for a Structured Package of Assistance (SPA), the details of incentives and terms of disbursal will be given in the form of a Government Order (GO). On achievement of the commitments as per the conditions of the GO, SIPCOT will examine the claims and disburse the incentives.

www.easybusiness.tn.gov.in serves as the single point for accepting and electronically distributing applications to the respective competent authorities, receiving electronic payment of fees from enterprises, ensuring submission of supporting documents, communicating queries / clarifications raised by respective competent authorities to enterprises and receiving enterprises’ responses, tracking and monitoring the status of application processing, allowing enterprises to download the final signed clearance, recording enterprise’s grievances and redressal of the same.
